Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital is seeking a Nationally certified APRN/PA/CNS to join the Trauma team. This full‑time position involves evaluating and managing trauma patients on the floors, ICU, and at ED trauma activations, with procedures like suturing and chest tube insertion per privileging policy.

ATLS certification within one year is required; experienced APPs are preferred, new grads with relevant ICU/surgery trauma experience considered.

Qualifications

• MSN required upon hire or within 3 years for external hires and internal hires moving from a non-APRN licensed role to an APRN licensed role.
• Graduate of an accredited APRN program.
• If in neonatal care service area Master's Degree is required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Conducts thorough medical histories and physical examinations and develops a working diagnosis and treatment plan in collaboration with the health care team.
• Performs routine and specialized procedures credentialed by the Medical Executive Committee and governing bodies.
• Prescribes and monitors medications as allowed by license and Cleveland Clinic policies.
• Educates patients about disease, treatments, side effects and hazards.
• Participates in medical team rounds and collaborates with nursing and other health care staff.
• Ensures continuity of care and coordinates with specialists as needed.
• Participates in quality monitoring and discharge planning to optimize patient outcomes.
• Supports professional development of the health care team and translates evidence-based practices.

Education

Graduate of an accredited APRN program

Master's degree in neonatal care service area (if applicable)
