Job summary

Kent Hospital, part of Care New England, is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible general surgeon with Trauma/Acute Care Surgery fellowship to shape our evolving program in Warwick, RI. The role includes academic appointment and teaching medical students, supported by 24/7 advanced practice clinician coverage.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• Board-certified or board-eligible in General Surgery.
• Fellowship training in Trauma/Acute Care Surgery.
• Eligible for Rhode Island medical licensure.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage acute care surgery consultations.
• Perform operative and non-operative management of trauma patients.
• Provide timely surgical care for emergency general surgery conditions.
• Participate in trauma activations and acute care surgery call coverage.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Support trauma program development through protocol development and education.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR.
• Participate in departmental meetings and quality improvement activities.
