Job summary

Kent Hospital, a Care New England hospital in Warwick, Rhode Island, seeks a board-certified or board-eligible General Surgeon with fellowship training in Trauma/Acute Care Surgery to join our surgical department and help advance our Level II Trauma Center readiness.

The role offers diverse clinical practice in trauma, acute care surgery, and elective general surgery with access to the Intuitive Xi robotic platform.

Qualifications

• MD or DO
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery
• Fellowship training in Trauma/Acute Care Surgery
• Eligible for Rhode Island medical licensure
• ATLS certification required (or ability to obtain)
• Demonstrated commitment to teamwork, quality improvement, and patient-centered care
• Interest in trauma systems development and program growth preferred

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage acute care surgery consultations
• Perform operative and non-operative management of trauma patients
• Provide timely surgical care for emergency general surgery conditions
• Participate in trauma activations and acute care surgery call coverage
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Support trauma program development through protocol development, quality initiatives, and education
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
• Participate in departmental meetings and quality improvement activities
