Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network seeks a physician to provide comprehensive medical services in both practice and hospital settings.

The role emphasizes high-quality, cost-effective care, adherence to evidence-based guidelines, and ongoing participation in quality initiatives. The ideal candidate will perform histories and physical exams, coordinate patient care, educate patients and families, and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other professionals to deliver patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical school with residency/fellowship in specialty.
• Current or recent experience in area of specialty.
• MD or DO licensed by the state licensure board; Board Certified/Eligible.

Responsibilities

• Performs history and physical examination of all patients.
• Provide cost-effective, high-quality care based on evidence-based medicine.
• Make best efforts to adhere to standardized orders and practice guidelines approved by the medical staff.
• Demonstrates competency in assessment, treatment, and communication appropriate to patient age.
• Provide regular, timely communication with referring physicians, patients and families.
• Participates in education of patients and their families.
• Evaluates and implements patient health care needs; initiates treatment via prescriptions and tests.
• Reviews lab results and plans actions according to results.
• Coordinates patient care and makes referrals; collaborates with other professionals.
• Maintains confidentiality and safety; adheres to policies.
• Teaches wellness habits and prevention strategies; stays current with practices.
