Job description

Seeking a full-time BC/BE Faculty Physician specializing in Acute Care Surgery for a unique opportunity to join a collaborative team that blends academic medicine with clinical practice across Dayton and the surrounding region.


As a faculty physician, you will:

  1. Play an integral role in educating and training medical students, residents, and fellows, while providing care to a diverse patient population in a variety of clinical settings.
  2. Contribute to improving patient outcomes, advancing clinical innovation, and shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals.
  3. Join a core of 9 surgeons whose scope of practice includes trauma, surgical critical care, and emergency & elective general surgery.
  4. Participate in patient care, research, educational activities, and regional trauma system development.
  5. Join us in advancing academic medicine and community health while shaping the future of medical education in Southwest Ohio.
  6. Core responsibilities of the surgeons in the division include resident and medical student education, surgical and critical care of trauma patients, caring for elective and emergency general surgery patients as well as research.
  7. The trauma program is supported by 20 advanced practitioners, in-house radiology and interventional radiology, an attached inpatient rehabilitation facility, and all necessary subspecialty support including orthopedics, neurosurgery, plastics (including re-implantation), maxillofacial, OB/GYN, and anesthesiology.
  8. The Surgery department runs a combined civilian/military residency program that graduates 8 chief residents annually.
