Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health seeks a Registered Nurse to deliver evidence-based nursing care, communicate with patients and care teams, and administer medications using advanced bar-scanning and documentation tools. You will document assessments and plans in real time, provide patient and family education, and support safe discharges.

The role requires a NJ RN license, BLS/CPR within 60 days, and at least 6 months of nursing experience or Nurse Residency participation.

Qualifications

• Current and valid New Jersey Nursing license is required.
• BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association is required within 60 days of hire.
• Minimum of 6 months of nursing experience or active participant in the Hackensack Meridian Health Nurse Residency program.
• Telemetry certification preferred.
• BSN in progress and/or willing to acquire within three (3) years of hire.
• Strong sense of accountability and exceptional teamwork expected.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of nursing practices according to up-to-date evidence-based research, policies, and standards of care to provide safe, individualized patient care.
• Ongoing communication with patients, nursing colleagues and health care team regarding patient status, care, and plans.
• Medication administration utilizing bar-scanning and documentation technologies to ensure safe delivery of meds.
• Ongoing Point-of-Care electronic documentation of patient assessments, plan-of-care, interventions and evaluation of care.
• Patient and family education aimed at optimizing health, wellness, and disease management.
• Multi-disciplinary discharging of patients to ensure safe transitioning and continuum of care.
