Job summary

SAMGI is seeking a Trauma/Acute Care Neurosurgeon to join a dedicated team in Rapid City, SD, at an ACS verified Level II center. This role focuses solely on acute care services with no elective procedures, treating traumatic neurosurgical injuries in a high-acuity environment with rapid decision-making.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams, supervise APPs, participate in follow-up clinics, and help develop standardized protocols while contributing to quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Neurosurgery.
• Fellowship training in trauma or demonstrated trauma experience required.
• Unrestricted medical license to practice in SD.
• ATLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide acute care neurosurgical services for trauma patients, including evaluation, diagnosis, surgical intervention, and postoperative management.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including trauma, critical care, and emergency departments, to provide timely, evidence-based care.
• Participate in follow-up clinics to ensure continuity of care for trauma patients.
• Supervise and collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to enhance delivery of patient care.
• Develop and adhere to standardized protocols and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
