Job summary

Albany Medical Center and the Albany Med Health System are seeking a Physician Assistant to join the Acute Care Surgery & Critical Care (ACS&CC) team in the Emergency Department. The PA will provide clinical support during peak trauma and surgical hours and collaborate closely with surgeons, residents, and ACS&CC staff.

The role requires NYS licensure, NCCPA certification, and BLS/ACLS. There is a structured schedule (Mon-Fri, 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM) with shift flexibility.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current NYS licensure and national certification (NCCPA).
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Willing to audit or ATLS certified.

Responsibilities

• Represent the ACS&CC team in the Emergency Room as a provider.
• Provide back up for inpatient ACS APP providers.
• Perform ED consultations with comprehensive assessments for ACS&CC.
• Perform ED procedures and wound care as required.
• Coordinate patient discharges and arrange follow-up care.
• Respond to Level 3 traumas and provide trauma consultations.
• Document encounters in the EMR and communicate with teams.
