St. Joseph’s Health in Paterson, NJ seeks a Trauma, Acute Care Surgery & Surgical Critical Care Surgeon to join the Division of Trauma, Acute Care Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care within the Department of Surgery.

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive surgical management of traumatic injuries, emergency general surgical conditions, and critically ill patients while collaborating with neurosurgery, orthopedics, interventional radiology, and other subspecialties; teaching

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an accredited General Surgery residency program.
• Board certification or board eligibility in General Surgery.
• Appropriate training and qualifications in Surgical Critical Care.
• ATLS certification or ability to obtain certification.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in New Jersey.

Responsibilities

• Participate in trauma surgery, emergency general surgery, surgical critical care, and elective general surgery.
• Care for high-acuity, diverse trauma patients with penetrating and blunt injuries.
• Collaborate with on-site neurosurgery, orthopedics, interventional radiology, and other subspecialties.
• Teach residents, fellows, medical students, and advanced practice providers.
• Engage in clinical research, scholarly activities, and trauma quality improvement.
• Contribute to growth and ACS Level I verification of the trauma program.
