Job summary

HES Facilities Management is seeking a Trash and Grounds Technician to collect and dispose of waste across residence halls and campus facilities, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming campus environment. You will service outdoor receptacles, transport waste, and maintain storage areas while adhering to safety procedures.

The role requires physical labor, independence, and a basic understanding of safe waste-handling practices, with opportunities to participate in campus-wide cleanup initiatives

Responsibilities

• Collect and remove trash from residence halls, dormitories, and designated campus facilities.
• Service and empty outdoor trash receptacles and waste collection stations.
• Transport collected waste and operate approved equipment to dispose of trash into designated compactors.
• Maintain cleanliness around dumpsters, compactors, and waste storage areas.
• Monitor waste collection areas and report damaged receptacles, safety concerns, or maintenance issues.
• Assist with special cleanup projects and campus-wide waste management initiatives as assigned.
• Follow all safety procedures, environmental regulations, and company policies related to waste handling and equipment operation.

The Trash and Grounds Technician is responsible for the collection, transportation, and disposal of waste from residence halls, campus buildings, and outdoor receptacles. This position helps maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming campus environment by ensuring timely waste removal and addressing litter throughout the campus grounds.
