Transporter - PRN Positions

The transporter performs patient transport and other related duties in a timely manner. Assumes responsibility for designated area or procedures as requested. Recognizes the purpose or employment is to prioritize patient as number one and to put forth the utmost quality in duties performed as transporters.

Job Description:

  • Responsible for transporting patients according to the designated method and adhering to scheduled times as nearly as possible, to and from diagnostic and treatment areas.
  • Transferring patients safely & efficiently via wheelchair, movable bed, or stretcher.
  • Responsible for assuring that patient is properly dressed or gowned for examination.
  • Responsible for notifying department concerned if a patient cannot be transported at a time other than scheduled.
  • Performs and documents safety checks on all transport equipment.
  • Sets a positive and professional atmosphere for patients.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be part of the CCPD Program.
  • Able to continuously perform physical demands of the position.
  • Successful on-the-job training program or applicable experience.
  • Must be able to provide care to all age groups in scope of service.
