The role you’ll contribute:

The Transporter performs patient transport duties across Nursing and Radiology, transferring patients to appropriate transport vehicles and to and from patient rooms. Coordinates and schedules transport between patient floors and other departments to facilitate care. Monitors and coordinates with nursing regarding O2, IV, suction, etc. Provides patient comfort and safety during transport. Performs basic cleaning of wheelchairs and stretchers. Monitors O2 tanks and stocks supplies as needed. Assists in patient transfer to and from beds or chairs.

• Facilitates safe, efficient, and expedited movement of patients using stretchers, wheelchairs, beds, and cribs.
• Coordinates with radiology and nursing staff regarding patient transport.
• Coordinates with CMU if the patient is on telemetry.
• Ensures proper transport methods by communicating with nursing staff.
• Uses safe lifting practices when transferring patients to appropriate transport methods.

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

Minimum qualifications:

• High School Diploma, GED, or two years of relevant work experience in lieu of diploma/GED required.
• Six months of customer service or equivalent experience required.

Preferred qualifications:

• CNA or other direct patient care experience preferred.
