Job summary

Hemet Global Medical Center in Hemet, CA is seeking a Radiology Diagnostic Transporter to move patients and materials safely inside our facility. This on-site role requires good customer service, strong safety awareness, and the ability to learn transportation procedures.

Under supervision, you will transport, assist with transfers, and educate patients and families on transfer techniques for post-hospital care; BLS certification is required, and no heavy lifting beyond 100 pounds is expected.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized training program in basic patient care.
• No experience required; six months preferred.
• Current BLS certification is required.

POSITION SUMMARY

DEFINITION

Under supervision, to transport patients and materials to various destinations inside of medical facilities; provides patient and family education regarding transfer techniques to be utilized in the post-hospital setting, as appropriate; and do other work as required.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Completion of a recognized training program in basic patient care preferred.

Experience

No experience required. Six (6) months preferred

Licensure/Certification

Current BLS (REQUIRED)

KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES

Knowledge of:

• Medical terminology
• Hospital established policies quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control policies and procedures.

Ability to:

• Read, write, and speak the English language
• Learn the principles, methods, and procedures of proper patient care.
• Learn medical facility routines and techniques.
• Perform patient care in an understanding and sympathetic manner.
• Follow oral and written directions.
• Apply proper body mechanics in lifting and moving at least 100 pounds.
• Handle patients in a manner, which will not aggravate their condition
