Job Title: Transporter
Entity: Lancaster General Hospital
Location: 555 N Duke St, Lancaster, PA 17602
Hours: 0.6 FTE (24 Hours per week) Weekends 10a-10p Saturday/Sunday
Position Summary:
  • Greet, guide, and transport in-patients within the hospital for all departments. Transport equipment and supplies. Care for patients across all age groups: pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform patient transfers on and off transport equipment.
  • Transport scheduled patients, retrieve and deliver equipment, supplies, and aids.
  • Complete cleaning tasks per OSHA standards, perform maintenance and inventory of equipment.
  • Monitor wheelchairs and litters, initiate repairs as needed.
  • Maintain transport system schedules, demonstrate computer skills, and handle scheduling and communication tasks.
  • Document accurately and promptly, report unusual situations, and provide basic comfort and safety to patients.
  • Act as a patient advocate, respond to emergencies, respect patient rights, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Handle conflicts positively, accept accountability, and work effectively as part of a team.
Credentials:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)
  • CPR Certification (Required)
Education or Equivalent Experience:
  • H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
  • Ability to prioritize, work independently, and communicate effectively.
