Full Time, Evening Shift, M-F 11a-7:30p; rotating weekends

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Education: Must have the ability to read, write, take verbal instruction, and perform basic arithmetic.
• Experience: No experience required; previous hospital experience preferred.
• Physical: This is a safety-sensitive position. Please see the St. Bernards Substance Abuse Policy for further information. Normal hospital environment. Close eye work. Hearing within normal range. Oral communication. Operates computer, wheelchairs, and stretchers. Requires mobility, sight, hearing, verbal communication. Changes in temperature and exposure to biological, mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards. Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping. Lifting up to 100 lbs, carrying up to 50 lbs, pushing/pulling up to 250 lbs with equipment.

JOB SUMMARY

The Transporter Equipment Tech is responsible for transporting patients to and from their rooms to various departments for testing and procedures. Performs duties including: coordinating physical bed placement, gathering and cleaning equipment daily, maintaining equipment with bio-med support, and keeping hallways clear of equipment. Prepares the department for procedures, performs procedure preps under supervision, assists with skills labs, maintains and evaluates equipment, and performs repairs. Communicates effectively with nursing staff, physicians, department managers, and sales representatives. Promotes good public relations and assists in patient care as assigned by the Director or Manager.
