Job Summary:

Under general supervision, and according to established policies and procedures, performs transport duties which may include, but are not limited to, escorting and/or transporting patients within the hospital.

1. Escorts patients by stretcher, wheelchair, or bed for treatment, testing, admitting, discharge, and intra-hospital transfers.
2. Delivers on request specimens, patient charts, and various other patient-related materials to specified departments or other hospital areas.

Qualifications:

1. Ability to read, write, follow written and oral instructions, and perform general clerical functions related to the job.

2. No previous related experience required; one to four weeks of on-the-job training.
