Responsibilities

The following describes the major elements and requirements of the position and is not an all-inclusive list of responsibilities, duties, or skills. The Radiology Transporter is responsible for transporting patients to and from the Radiology Department. Additional duties include, but are not limited to:

• Darkroom duties
• Ordering supplies and stocking
• Dressing patients
• Front office duties
• Clerical tasks such as answering telephones, greeting patients, and preparing requisitions for outpatients
• Filing patient reports and retrieving patient records for physicians or medical records

The Radiology Transport/Aide should demonstrate adequate knowledge of radiology terminology, good telephone etiquette, and the ability to greet patients and visitors politely. Provides clerical support using telephone, computer, office equipment, PACS (Picture Archive and Communication System), and runs errands throughout the facility.

• Must have BCLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintain current status throughout employment
• Transportation experience preferred
• Starting April 2014, all new hires require a High School diploma or equivalent
