Job Summary:

MedStar Health is looking for a Transporterto join our team at MedStarGeorgetown University Hospital!

As aTransporter, you willescort patients and transport items between patient units and ancillary departments. These functions are performedin accordance withall applicable laws and regulations and MedStar Georgetown's philosophy, policies, procedures, and standards.

Primary Duties:

• Obtains supplies/equipment/medications, as needed, fromappropriate departmentsand transports to nursing units. Obtains "STAT" medications from Pharmacy and delivers to nursing units.

• Assistsnursing staff getting patients into chairs/beds/stretchers, and escorts/transports patients to and from ancillary departments. Responds to all "Codes" as assignedto transport and obtain requests for supplies, medications, etc.

• Transport specimens toappropriate laboratory.Utilizes communication devices (bellboy, walkie-talkie) to respond to requests for service, and alwaysmaintainsall devices in proper working condition.

• Communicatesappropriate informationto patients, staff, and visitors.

• Maintains a safe environment for patients during all phases of transportation. Exemplifies Guest and Staff Relations standards in all activities.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Previoushospital or patient care experience preferred.

This position has a hiring range of $18.75 - $18.77
