Job summary

Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital in Valencia, CA seeks a Transporter to support the imaging services team by safely moving patients within the hospital and between departments.

Under the direction of Imaging Services leadership, the transporter ensures patient safety, operates wheelchairs and gurneys, and maintains clear communication with caregivers.

A High School diploma or GED is required; current BLS and MAB certifications are preferred; hospital experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or GED.
• Current BLS provider card.
• Management Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certification.
• Hospital experience preferred.
• Ability to lift and move patients and equipment.

Job Summary:

Under the direction of Director of Imaging Services and/or Manager of Imaging Services, Lead Transporter, professional and technical staff; the Transporter is responsible for the transfer and transport of patients both intra-hospital, intra-campus, and between the ancillary services.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

• Physically fit and able to push patients in wheelchairs and gurney’s and assist with moving of patients
• Problem solving skills
• Credibility amongst staff, both within and outside of department.
• Solid communication skills, ability to communicate with other departments and directors.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at one time.
• Delegation
• Basic computer skills

Licensure and Certification:

• Current BLS provider card
• Management Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certification

Education:

• High School graduate or GED equivalent

Experience:

• Hospital experience preferred
