Position Transporter
This self-motivated Team Member must possess the ability to work independently as well as in a team setting with others in multiple departments and disciplines. The team member must possess the ability to communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and internal customers using appropriate scripting and engagement techniques.

Essential Functions
- Provide safe and efficient transport of patients to all areas of the hospital. Assess patient to determine the most effective method for transport.
- Communicate vital patient information with the department manager, group leads, and other appropriate team members.
- Responsible and accountable for reaching individual productivity standards established by the department.
- Transport charts and specimens in an efficient and confidential manner.
- Maintain all transportation equipment and ensure its cleanliness and sanitary condition.
- Demonstrate ability to log into and operate Allscripts Transport Tracking systems effectively.
- Provide outstanding customer service to support the mission, vision, and values of Orlando Health.
- Inform customers, nursing units, and diagnostic departments of delays proactively.
- Store equipment properly to prevent fire and safety hazards.
- Adjust oxygen flow and determine PSI in oxygen tanks; transfer oxygen regulators safely.
- Safely remove telemetry units from patients.
- Follow hospital and departmental policies regarding safety, dress code, attendance, punctuality, and ID badge display.
- Handle work-related information confidentially to maintain HIPAA compliance.
- Work effectively with team members to meet the changing needs of patients and departments.
- Assist in distributing and retrieving clinical equipment and maintain its condition.
- Transport and deliver items, equipment, and medications (excluding controlled substances and chemotherapy drugs).
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance per hospital policies and legal standards.
- Comply with all hospital policies, safety standards, and mandatory training requirements.
- Participate in quality assurance and departmental improvement activities.
- Show initiative and creativity to improve services and processes.
Education/Training
- Ability to read and recognize similarities and differences in words and numbers.
- Ability to write simple correspondence and respond to inquiries or complaints.
- Access and use department computer systems like TeleTracking, Outlook, and Allscripts.
- Complete required mandatory training.
Licensure/Certification
- BLS/Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association, renewed biennially.
Experience
- Experience in a patient care setting or customer service role.
