Job summary

Nash UNC Health Care in North Carolina seeks a Transporter to move patients by wheelchair, bed, or stretcher and provide non-professional support for the department. This full-time role supports the NGH Patient Transport team and requires on-site work at Nash Hospitals.

Responsibilities include assisting health professionals, maintaining clean transport equipment, keeping a safe environment, and delivering supplies and resources to assigned areas, including during emergencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current certification as a Nursing Assistant I is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists health professionals as appropriate to assigned work area.
• Ensures that medical equipment necessary for patient transport is clean, functional and operational. Reports any equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
• Helps maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Procures, processes, and/or delivers equipment, supplies, nourishments, and other resources to the assigned area on a routine basis and during emergency situations.
• Transports patients (stable to highly complex with special equipment needs) to other nursing units, diagnostics, and for discharge.

Summary

• Procures, processes, and/or delivers equipment, supplies, nourishments, and other resources to the assigned area on a routine basis and during emergency situations
• Transports patients (whose conditions range from stable to highly complex with special equipment needs) to other nursing units, to diagnostic and treatment areas, and for discharge from the Hospitals.
