Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast is seeking a Transporter to assist Medical Imaging staff and physicians by transporting patients throughout the hospital and supporting ancillary areas as needed.

Responsibilities include assisting patients in/out of wheelchairs, entering orders if needed, and maintaining transport equipment. Candidates should be able to work at front desk as required and follow HIPAA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required within 30 days of start date.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients and assist imaging staff and physicians.
• Assist patients in/out of wheelchairs and navigate hospital areas.
• Enter patient orders when needed and relay messages.
• Assist technologists to expedite patient care and keep TAT down.
• Answer phones and relay messages in a helpful manner.
• Maintain cleanliness of transport equipment after patient use.

Job Summary and Qualifications

To maintain a safe, efficient and pleasant work environment. To assist the Medical Imaging Staff and Physicians in performing their duties and to provide support for ancillary areas, when requested. To assist patients while transporting them throughout the hospital. Work with technologists performing exams to help expedite care to the patient. Work at front desk as needed in main dept, OP Mall or Radiation Therapy.

What you will do in this role:

• Accurately enters patient orders(if needed).
• Demonstrates proper use of PATRA transport system
• Answers the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner and relay messages and phone calls appropriately.
• Assists in keeping TAT down.
• Assists patients with completing patient information and history.
• Assists Technologists as needed.
• Properly assist patients in/out of wheelchair
• Handles and stores full/empty onygen tanks in proper place.
• Cleans transport equipment after each patient
• Expectations Ethics and Compliance: All employees will be held accountable for behaviors displayed relative to the values articulated in the Mission and Values Statement. “Will act with absolute honest, integrity and fairness in the way we conduct our business and the way we live our lives.” All employees will be held accountable for attending training regarding the Code of Conduct program at least annually.
• Adheres to code of conduct at all times
• Follows HIPAA guidelines.
• Notifies RN or dept staff when patient has arrived.
• Must practice AIDET daily.
• Practices Hand Hygiene in/out of rooms

What qualifications you will need:
