Job summary

Fidelity Manufacturing is seeking a CDL driver to operate company trucks and trailers, transport materials between facilities, and ensure loads are secured. The role also includes warehouse duties such as receiving, inspecting, staging, and inventory checks, plus adherence to safety policies and DOT requirements.

Qualified candidates will have a valid CDL, clean driving record, and experience in driving and warehouse operations.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class A or Class B CDL, as required for the position.
  • Clean driving record preferred.
  • Previous commercial driving experience preferred.
  • Previous warehouse, manufacturing, shipping, receiving, or material-handling experience preferred.
  • Forklift certification or experience preferred.
  • Ability to safely lift, move, and handle materials.
  • Ability to read and understand shipping documents, packing slips, labels, and work instructions.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to accurately complete paperwork and maintain records.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate company CDL vehicles, trucks, and trailers.
  • Transport materials, parts, equipment, and finished products between company facilities.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any mechanical or safety concerns.
  • Ensure all loads are properly secured before transportation.
  • Safely load and unload materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material-handling equipment.
  • Follow all DOT, company, and applicable federal and state transportation requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and safe company vehicle.
  • Report accidents, incidents, vehicle damage, or unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Plan routes efficiently and communicate delays or delivery issues to management.
  • Provide professional customer service when making deliveries or pickups.
  • Receive, inspect, unload, and put away incoming materials.
  • Pull and stage materials for production, shipping, and other company locations.
  • Load trucks and trailers while ensuring materials are properly secured.
  • Move materials throughout the warehouse and production areas using forklifts and other approved equipment.
  • Assist with inventory counts and maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Verify part numbers, quantities, job numbers, and locations when moving materials.
  • Maintain accurate paperwork and documentation for material transfers and deliveries.
  • Assist with preparing materials for shipment.
  • Keep warehouse areas, loading docks, and staging areas clean and organized.
  • Follow established receiving, issuing, staging, and material-handling procedures.
  • Report damaged, missing, or incorrect materials to the appropriate department.
  • Assist with cycle counts and investigate inventory discrepancies when requested.
  • Support warehouse organization and 5S activities.
  • Assist other warehouse personnel as needed.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment only when properly trained and authorized.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Maintain safe distances from pedestrians and other equipment.
  • Properly secure loads before moving or transporting materials.
  • Immediately report unsafe conditions, injuries, accidents, and equipment concerns.

Essential Responsibilities
CDL Driver Responsibilities

Work Environment

This position works in a manufacturing warehouse, loading dock, yard, and company vehicles. The employee may be exposed to moving equipment, forklifts, trucks, varying temperatures, dust, noise, and other normal manufacturing and warehouse conditions.
