Job Summary: Transports patients, specimens, and equipment throughout the facility.

Job Responsibilities:

• Transport patients via wheelchair, stretcher, or bed to designated sites as requested, including patients with oxygen tanks, IVs, and monitors.
• Assist patients with entering and exiting vehicles, including transfers from or to wheelchairs or stretchers.
• Deliver equipment and specimens to requesting staff or departments. May assist with removal of deceased bodies from units and transport to morgue.
• Greet and provide information and directions to patients and visitors.
• Maintain alertness and work safely at all times.
• Clean and disinfect hospital equipment, including IV pumps, drips, and monitors, following established guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education:

• High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience.

Experience:

• No experience required.

Physical Requirements:

• Constant standing and walking.
• Frequent use of hearing and speech for communication.
• Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
• Frequent reaching, gripping, and data entry.
• Frequent use of vision for near and far distances and color recognition.
• Occasional bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, sitting, squatting, and repetitive movements.
• Occasional lifting/moving patients and objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
• Occasional use of smell to detect odors.
• Occasional driving.

Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS HCP) from the American Heart Association.
