Job summary

Tenet Healthcare's DMC Children’s Hospital of Michigan seeks a Laboratory and Clinical Technician for transport duties within the hospital. You will escort patients by stretcher, wheelchair, or bed for treatment, testing, admission, discharge, and transfers, and you will deliver specimens and charts to the appropriate departments.

The position is listed with evening shifts, 66 scheduled hours per period, and a part-time FTE of 0.825, supporting patient care within a major pediatric hospital

Job Summary

Under general supervision, and according to established policies and procedures, performs transporter duties which may include, but are not limited to escorting and/or transporting patients within the hospital. Escorts patients by stretcher, wheelchair or bed for treatment, testing, admitting, discharge and intra-hospital transfers. Delivers on request specimens, patient charts and various other patient related materials to specified department or other hospital area. The Detroit Medical Center retains the right to create and revise all job descriptions, at its sole discretion.

Qualifications - External

1. Ability to read, write follow written and oral instructions and perform general clerical functions related to the job.

2. No previous related experience required; one to four weeks on-the-job training.
