Job summary

Resurrection Medical Center seeks a Medical Transporter for per diem shifts at our Chicago facility. The transporter will move patients within the department and perform related tasks, including clerical duties, front desk support, and basic room prep.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and BCLS certification, with transportation experience preferred. The position supports varied, as-needed shifts and daily operations within the medical transport team.

Qualifications

• BCLS (AHA) certification required upon hire and maintained throughout employment.
• Transportation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients to and from the department.
• Perform related duties such as darkroom tasks, stocking supplies, dressing patients, and front office duties.
• Provide clerical support by answering phones, greeting patients, and preparing outpatient requisitions.
• Retrieve patient records and file patient reports for physicians or medical records.
• Demonstrate professional telephone etiquette and greet patients and visitors politely.
• Operate office equipment and PACS system; run errands around the facility.

Responsibilities
The following statements are intended to describe the major elements and requirements of the position and should not be taken as an all inclusive list of responsibilities, duties and skills required, of an individual assigned to this job. The transporter transports patients to and from the department. Other duties include but are not limited to; Darkroom duties, ordering supplies, stocking, dressing patients and front office duties. This performs clerical duties for the department such as answering telephones, greeting patients and preparing requisitions for outpatients. Other duties include, but is not limited to, filing patient reports, retrieving patient records for physicians or medical records. The transporter should demonstrate adequate knowledge of the usual terminology of tests ordered in department person should demonstrate good telephone etiquette and be able to greet patients and other visitors in a polite and friendly manner. Provides clerical support by utilizing telephone, computer, office equipment, PACS (Picture Archive and Communication System) and by running errands throughout the facility.

Pay Transparency
Resurrection Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is a flat rate of $20.82. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
