Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Transporter in Patient Transport, you will be responsible for the transportation of patients, equipment, supplies, and specimens throughout the facility. You will clean and maintain equipment for transporting and maintain friendly and professional interactions with patients and family members.

  • You will transport patients using the appropriate mode of transportation as indicated on the exam requisition.
  • You will notify nursing staff of patient location and will sign patients in and out appropriately.
  • You will monitor the patient’s general health while transporting and report any significant changes in patient condition.
  • You will prioritize the retrieval of patients using the exam schedule and request of technologists.
  • You will facilitate the comfort and needs of the patient before, during, and after the exam.
  • You will perform minor equipment repairs and general upkeep.

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience in the medical field – preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • High School Graduate / GED.
