Responsibilities

Laurel Heights Hospital, located in Atlanta, Georgia, has a Transporter position available. Laurel Heights Hospital is an intensive Residential Treatment/Acute and Autism Spectrum Disorders Program for children and adolescents. We serve and treat severe and complex psychiatric and behavioral difficulties and co-occurring psychiatric issues. EOE.

1. Providing transportation services as needed and/or directed.
2. Transporting psychiatric patients to and from the facility and appointments.
3. Managing vehicle transportation, maintenance logs, registrations, and insurance updates.
4. Maintaining GA DDS driver updates.
5. Reporting vehicle maintenance issues to the maintenance coordinator and Director of Plant Operations.
6. Performing basic automotive maintenance and repairs, such as changing a flat tire, checking and adding fluids, and tire inflation.
7. Maintaining composure while driving patients, even during rush hours on local roads.
8. Assisting passengers entering and exiting vehicles.
9. Following all traffic laws and safety regulations.
10. Keeping vehicles clean and reporting safety issues.
11. Communicating with the Residential Manager and COO regarding patient care as needed.
12. Monitoring client activities to ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
13. Answering and directing calls appropriately.
14. Maintaining a clean environment for patients.
15. Ensuring patient safety through responsible judgment.
16. Handling volatile or hostile interactions professionally.
17. Monitoring patients' well-being and reporting concerns.
18. Working flexible hours to meet organizational needs.
19. Assisting with patient care as needed.
20. Complying with facility policies and procedures.
21. Performing other duties as assigned.
