Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside multidisciplinary teams to provide innovative hydrologic, hydraulic, and water quality solutions.
  • Conduct comprehensive hydrologic and hydraulic studies using the latest modeling tools, including PC SWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, HY-8, SRH-2D/SMS, and more.
  • Develop detailed reports, design plans, construction documents, and specifications that address drainage and stormwater needs for transportation projects.
  • Partner with VHB's integrated team to evaluate permit requirements and prepare applications for approvals.
  • Mentor and support team members, expanding their technical expertise and fostering collaborative learning.
  • Drive business development by identifying and pursuing new opportunities to grow the team's impact.

Skills & Abilities:

  • A passion for innovative problem-solving and a drive to make a difference in transportation and water resources.
  • Excellent communication skills-verbal, written, and interpersonal-allowing you to collaborate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Strong technical expertise in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling programs, including ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.
  • A proactive, self-starter mentality, with a demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams.
  • An understanding of local, state, and federal technical requirements related to transportation infrastructure.

Qualifications:

  • BS in civil/environmental engineering or related discipline
  • 5-8 years of professional engineering and analysis experience
  • PE (Professional Engineer) license required
