Qualifications

• At least 4–6 years of experience in Transportation/Trucking Litigation.
• Missouri license to practice law; Illinois licensure preferred.
• Excellent litigation, writing, and persuasive speaking skills; strong research ability.

Responsibilities

• Investigating serious and catastrophic accidents.
• Evaluating liability, causation, damages, and exposure.
• Developing litigation strategy with clients, insurers, and experienced trial counsel.
• Managing cases through all phases of litigation.
• Drafting pleadings, dispositive motions, discovery, and substantive correspondence.
• Taking and defending depositions of parties, witnesses, corporate representatives, treating physicians, and experts.
• Working with accident-reconstruction, trucking, medical, and other experts.
• Preparing cases for mediation and settlement.
• Participating in hearings and court proceedings.
• Preparing cases for trial and, depending on experience, participating as first or second chair.
• Communicating directly with clients, claims professionals, witnesses, and opposing counsel.
• Working collaboratively with partners, associates, paralegals, and litigation support staff.
