Description

DRMP's Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) Division is hiring. We are looking for Transportation Technicians/CEI Inspectors (all levels) to join our team in the Wilmington area.

*While you'll be assigned to a home office, most positions will report directly to the field/project. The Transportation Technician is responsible for performing complex technical tasks in field surveying, construction layout, engineering computations, inspection, and field testing.

Primary Responsibilities

• Document daily contractor work efforts.
• Prepare and maintain project field books and density logs.
• Conduct material sampling and testing.
• Assist in preparing the Final Estimates package.
• Verify dimensions, levels, alignment, and elevation of construction activities.
• Ensure procedures and materials conform to standards through observation.
• Obtain and prepare samples for lab testing.
• Inspect finished installations for quality and standards compliance.
• Record material quantities received or used.
• Maintain daily logs of activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with 4+ years in construction inspection, including 1+ year in roadway or bridge inspection.
• AAS in Civil Engineering Technology plus 2+ years experience, with at least 1+ year in roadway construction inspection.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Completion of Critical Structures Construction Issues Self-Study Course and submission of certification.
• Ability to work 40+ hours per week, with potential overtime.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a team environment.

Certifications

• QMS Roadway, Concrete, Density, ABC Sampling, Borrow Pit Sampling, EC Level 2, DOT Intermediate MOT, and others.
