Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Supervisor, Transportation to coordinate and oversee daily transportation operations. You will liaise with Transportation, Operations, carriers, vendors and customers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.

The role requires 2 years in transportation or supply chain and preferably 1 year of supervisory experience. Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office is expected, with a focus on tracking and reporting performance.

Qualifications

• 2 years of transportation or supply chain experience required.
• 1 year of supervisory experience is a plus.
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills for supervising, coaching and influencing staff.

Responsibilities

• Act as liaison for Transportation, Operations, carriers, vendors and customers.
• Lead and supervise transportation staff, including training and evaluating performance.
• Recommend hiring, promotions, transfers or disciplinary actions.
• Perform routing, planning, updating and tracking of orders and shipments.
• Analyze and resolve carrier performance and compliance issues.
• Track and trace shipments to ensure on-time deliveries and provide updates.
• Investigate and resolve customer/carrier issues and provide follow-up.

1st Shift, Sunday - Wednesday, 6:00am - 6:00pm. 4 on and 4 off, rotating days

As the Supervisor, Transportation, you will coordinate and handle a variety of transportation activities, as well as supervise day-to-day transportation operations and strive to meet or exceed customer expectations.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Act as a liaison for Transportation, Operations, carriers, vendors and customers
• Lead and supervise transportation staff, including training and evaluating employee performance
• Recommend or initiate hiring, promotions, transfers or disciplinary actions
• Perform the routing, planning, updating and/or tracking duties of orders and shipments
• Complete the analysis and resolution of carrier performance and compliance issues
• Track and trace shipments for customers to ensure on-time, accurate and satisfactory deliveries; provide updates as needed
• Investigate and resolve issues submitted by customers, carriers and/or clients; provide follow-up and reporting as required
• Correctly maintain and generate required reports; properly process, audit and file various documentation

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

• 2 years of transportation or supply chain experience
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Windows applications with the ability to create complex formulas in Excel

It’d be great if you also have:

• 1 year of supervisory experience
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills with experience effectively supervising, coaching and influencing employees

This job requires the ability to:

• Lift objects of various shapes, sizes and weights up to 25 lbs.
• Stand, sit or walk for extended periods of time
• Reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel
• Tolerate hot or cold warehouse environments
