Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Supervisor, Logistics to oversee outbound transportation, coordinate dock schedules, and manage carrier relationships. The role focuses on on-time shipment execution and adherence to customer requirements, with daily oversight of logistics operations in a fast-paced environment.

The position requires 2+ years of logistics experience, proficiency in MS Office, and an associate degree in transportation or business. Extended hours may be required.

As the Supervisor, Logistics, you will be responsible for supervising personnel, researching data, providing recommendations and working directly with customers to provide support and resolve issues. What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Oversee daily outbound transportation activities to ensure on-time shipment execution.
• Manage load planning and shipment scheduling using customer-approved carriers and routing guides.
• Coordinate dock schedules, shipment appointments, and carrier arrivals/departures.
• Ensure compliance with customer transportation requirements and service-level expectations.
• Maintain shipment visibility and proactively communicate transportation issues to internal and external stakeholders.
• Act as primary operational contact for customer-assigned carriers.
• Coordinate shipment pickups and delivery schedules.
• Escalate carrier performance issues to customer transportation teams when required.
• Support claims, OS&D (Overage, Shortage, and Damage), and freight discrepancy investigations.
• Support audits and transportation process reviews.

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

• 2 years of relevant work experience
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Windows applications; ability to create complex formulas in Excel

It’d be great if you also have:

• Associate degree in Transportation or Business
• 2 years of experience in customer service, distribution or logistics in a manufacturing environment
• 2 years of experience in transportation and operations
• Availability to work extended hours as needed, which may include early mornings, evenings and weekends
• Capacity to quickly learn and achieve proficiency in new software applications
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present clean, organized and thorough information and data appropriate for intended audience
• Effective organizational and leadership skills; able to use a variety of interpersonal styles and communication methods to effectively adapt to new work structures, processes or cultures
• Ability to perform complex analyses of data, processes, policies, procedures and/or systems; experience producing unambiguous, comprehensive and accurate interpretations
