Job description

Position Responsibilities:
  1. The Assistant Transportation Manager ensures annual performance goals are met, including on-time dispatches, off-load rate, labor cost, and product loss and damage.
  2. Ensure a safe working environment by executing company processes successfully.
  3. Assist in developing the daily operating plan, including equipment maintenance and driver work schedules, to meet or exceed customer delivery needs and promptly solve problems to maximize customer satisfaction.
  4. Provide development to supervisory and driver staff, and potentially lead committees such as quality and safety.
  5. Partner with human resources to ensure appropriate staffing levels throughout the year, fostering a work environment with maximized employee involvement.
  6. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
  • Associate's degree with 3 to 4+ years of related experience and 0 to 1+ years of supervisory experience, or a High School Diploma with 5+ years of specific experience and 1 to 2+ years of supervisory experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
