Job summary

The Salvation Army ARC-Jacksonville is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to oversee donation pickups, vehicle maintenance, and scheduling in Jacksonville, FL. Day shift, full-time with minimal travel.

Requirements: High School diploma or GED (preferred but not required), four years of experience driving heavy trucks or large vans, and at least one year of supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination. A valid state driver’s license is required; CDL is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• One year of supervisory experience.
• Equivalent training and experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, plans, assigns, and evaluates the work of transportation personnel.
• Ensures donation pickups are conducted timely and efficiently.
• Monitors pickup system effectiveness and initiates corrective action.
• Maintains accountability of donated merchandise and fleet vehicles.
• Ensures safety standards are observed and customers are treated courteously.

Supervises, plans, assigns, and evaluates the work of all transportation personnel ensuring that donation pickups are conducted in a timely and efficient manner as well as in accordance with established policies and procedures; monitors the effectiveness of the pickup system and initiates appropriate corrective action in a timely manner in order to maintain productivity standards; ensures the accountability of all donated merchandise; ensures that all fleet vehicles are properly maintained; ensures that safety standards are observed by all assigned personnel; ensures that customers are treated in a courteous and tactful manner.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED preferred but not required and four years of experience driving a heavy-duty truck or large van, one year of supervisory experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of Transportation Supervisor.
