Job summary

Goodwill Industries of North Florida is hiring a Transportation Manager in Jacksonville, FL. You will manage vehicle operations, drivers, and the flow of donated goods through the Goodwill system, ensuring safe, organized warehouse operations and daily driver scheduling.

You will train drivers, plan staffing, and collaborate with stores and clients to align service with business goals. A CDL and FMCSA/DOT knowledge are required, with flexibility for weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Education or equivalent: technical, trade or vocational degree, or 4 years of applicable experience.
• Minimum 3 years supervisory experience, preferably in waste, logistics, or transportation.
• CDL; knowledge of FMCSA/DOT regulations and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily activities of truck drivers.
• Plan staffing levels to move store inventory, salvage, As-Is and trash through Goodwill system.
• Train drivers and meet daily routing requirements.
• Drive when needed and troubleshoot vehicle problems.
• Maintain required documentation and interview/hire staff as appropriate.
• Serve as liaison between Goodwill Industries and clients; ensure staffing and budgets meet goals.
• May travel to other stores as needed; perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary: The Transportation Manager is responsible for vehicle operations, drivers and the movement of donated goods through the Goodwill System. Provide a clean, safe, organized warehouse as a clearing hub for donated goods. Responsible for daily scheduling and monitoring driver’s activities.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Technical, Trade or Vocational School Degree or 6 years of management experience or 4 years functional experience required
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years prior supervisory experience, preferably in waste, logistics, or transportation
• Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: CDL
• Other: Knowledge of FMCSA/ DOT regulations and compliance; Knowledge of proper safety practices; Knowledge of minor truck maintenance; Ability to drive and train drivers; Ability to organize and maintain a safe, orderly warehouse; Ability to direct workflow; Accountable for the execution of service quality by maintaining the highest level of service delivery; Promotes and supports workplace diversity initiatives; Able to regularly lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds; Must be able to work flexible schedule to include weekends, evenings and holidays

Job Duties
