Euro USA, Inc. in Sterling, VA is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to manage shipments, plan routes, and supervise drivers in a hands-on, in-person role.

The position requires 2+ years of supervisory experience, 2+ years of box truck driving, and knowledge of DOT regulations. A DOT Medical Card and valid Driver's License are required. Spanish is preferred. Starting salary ranges from $55,000 to $60,000 per year with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience driving a 26-foot box truck.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Good management skills, including the ability to lead and motivate others, delegate work and explain ideas.
• Excellent planning and organizing skills.
• The ability to work as part of a team.
• The ability to inspire, motivate and lead a team of people.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to work on a tactical and strategic level.
• The ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise the shipments to the customer
• Schedule daily and weekly routes, drivers, and trucks (the supervisor will be responsible for 2 or 3 routes per week)
• Report maintenance and repair needs for transportation vehicles and equipment
• Research and suggest cost-effective shipping methods
• Conduct regular safety audits on equipment
• Organize training sessions for drivers as required by DOT and OSHA regulations
• Keep organized records of vehicles, schedules and completed orders
• Ensure compliance with company policies and shipping legislation
• Stay up-to-date with safety regulations
• Work with internal sales and purchasing team members

Description

The Transportation Supervisor will have knowledge of supply chain management and an understanding of warehouse procedures, including storing perishable and non-perishable goods, dispatching orders and tracking transportation vehicles. He/she must be familiar with safety processes and all DOT legal regulations, ensuring that all shipments are handled quickly, safely and within budget.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise the shipments to the customer
• Schedule daily and weekly routes, drivers, and trucks (the supervisor will be responsible for 2 or 3 routes per week)

Working Conditions

• Ability to move/lift to 50 lbs.
• Ability to withstand variable temperatures in a typical food warehouse environment
• Position spends 6 – 8 hours standing, walking, lifting, pulling and pushing

Starting rate between $55,000 and $60,000 per year.
