Job summary

Quality Custom Distribution seeks a Transportation Supervisor to lead daily transportation operations, ensuring on-time performance and safety across a large team. You will monitor routing, coach drivers, and optimize processes using XATA and CADEC to meet company goals.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree and 3–6 years in transportation or food distribution with supervisory experience, plus familiarity with union environments and DOT regulations.

Responsibilities

• Resolve equipment failures and coordinate repairs with leasing/maintenance providers.
• Motivate and evaluate employees to maintain a positive work environment.
• Supervise staff, interpret rules in a union environment, and take disciplinary action as required.
• Update routing programs daily and review driver reports to meet efficiency goals.
• Perform other related and assigned duties as necessary.

JOB SUMMARY:

Supervises day-to-day transportation functions to ensure driver performance, customer satisfaction, and that Department and Company objectives for efficiency, reliability, and productivity are met or exceeded.

Shift: Wednesday - Saturday (10 hours)

Essential Functions:

• Plans, implements, and monitors day-to-day transportation operations, including analysis of on-time reports, delivery reliability, off-load rate, and manpower needs. (25%)
• Reviews and schedules daily routing of equipment and manpower to meet customer needs in terms of contractual guidelines, special deliveries, supplemental deliveries, opening orders, etc. (20%)
• Resolves equipment failures or breakdowns, providing advice and assistance to drivers, as well as submitting appropriate reports to leasing/maintenance provider for service and repair. (15%)
• Motivates employees, including performance evaluation, counseling, and problem resolution, to achieve a positive work environment. (20%)
• Supervises employees, including interpretation of rules in a union work environment, conflict resolution, and disciplinary action as required. (10%)
• Updates routing programs (XATA, CADEC) on a daily basis, including review of drivers’ on-board computer reports to ensure that goals for efficiency and timeliness are met. (10%)
• Performs other related and assigned duties as necessary.

Supervises up to 100 or more employees, including hourly staff. Overseas operations with significant impact on GSF customer relations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and experience equivalent to:

Education/Certification

Bachelor’s degree in management, business, or psychology from an accredited college or university.

Experience

3 to 6 years of work experience in transportation or food distribution, including supervisory responsibilities and union work environments.
