Job Summary
This is an Operations position responsible for supervising activities related to Delivery. Responsibilities include management and direction of delivery staff, ensuring compliance with government regulations, and maintaining safety and security within the delivery department.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily work and safety of Delivery Associates, ensuring adherence to SOPs, planned routes, and customer service standards.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., DOT, OSHA) and maintain accurate electronic logs.
- Manage labor hours and supplies within budget.
- Prepare work schedules, including extra shifts as needed.
- Oversee proper utilization and maintenance of company assets.
- Coordinate repairs and review delivery productivity reports.
- Implement efficiency improvements and cost reduction measures.
- Enforce company policies, including safety, food safety, and record keeping.
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to resolve customer or delivery issues.
- Visit customer locations to address concerns and assess delivery challenges.
- Hold regular meetings to communicate with associates and monitor morale.
- Facilitate open communication and gather ideas to improve engagement.
- Coordinate safety training, investigations, and inspections with the Safety department.
- Make recommendations for disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Handle staff recruitment, development, performance reviews, and terminations.
- Perform duties of supervised associates as needed.
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or GED; college degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
Experience
- 1-3 years related experience or training.
Certificates & Licenses
- Completion of Sysco-approved defensive driving program.
- HazMat certification preferred.
- Valid Class A CDL preferred.

Physical Demands
- Frequent talking, walking, sitting, handling, reaching, and balancing.
- Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Ability to lift/move up to 100 lbs and push/pull up to 350 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required.
Working Conditions
- Exposure to various environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures and mechanical hazards.
- Non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Potential travel to other locations.
- Exposure to heights and airborne particles occasionally.
- Moderate noise level.
