Job summary

PFG Customized is seeking a Transportation Supervisor in Gainesville, FL. The role involves supervising delivery associates, riding with drivers for training, and performing safety observations to ensure compliant operations.

The position supports the Transportation Manager with daily administration, driver payroll tasks, and ensuring DOT and safety regulations are followed. The role requires working three mid-shift days and two overnight shifts as scheduled across all shifts.

Qualifications

• Active CDL-A and ability to operate company vehicles.
• At least 1 year of transportation experience with knowledge of DOT and safety regulations.
• Experience with computerized fleet management systems in foodservice industry.

Job Description

• Supervises associates to include, but not limited to: staffing, training, coaching, performance management and problem resolution.


• Rides with drivers for training and/or evaluation purposes.


• Performs safety and quality observations of delivery drivers to ensure safe and effective operations.


• Assists Transportation Manager with overall day-to-day administration of transportation and delivery functions, which may include calculating driver payroll, reviewing driver trip logs and expense reports, identifying and resolving problems, and ensuring that drivers are compliant with DOT and OpCo regulations. Operates computer keyboard to enter and access data in automated fleet management system.


• Ensures drivers fulfill duties safely by monitoring vehicle safety, safe usage of ramps and handcarts, seat and weight belt use, and safe lifting and product-handling practices. May attend quarterly safety meetings.


• Coordinates tracking of all relevant information on drivers, such as license status, traffic tickets, accidents and other risk and safety- related data.


• Ensures accurate completion of all delivery and driver-related paperwork including invoices, cash receipts, collection register, trip reports, fuel tickets, deposit slips, DOT logs, Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR), driver qualification files and accident reporting.


• Ensures maintenance of all trucks, tractors and trailers through detailed review of post-trip inspections.


• Performs other related duties as assigned.


• Required to work all shifts necessary.

Required Qualifications

• Must have an active CDL-A & the ability to operate company vehicles.


• At least 1 year of transportation experience including knowledge of DOT and safety regulations, along with experience in operation of computerized fleet management systems within foodservice industry.


• Availability to work all shifts and days. This includes early mornings, overnights, weekends, & holidays.


• Proposed Schedule: This position is expected to work three (3) mid-shift days (2:00 PM - 11:00 PM) and two (2) overnight shifts (9:00 PM - 6:00 AM) each week. Schedule may be adjusted based on business needs.

Compensation
