Job summary

Salvation Army in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to oversee donation pickups and lead a team of drivers.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience driving a heavy-duty truck or large van.

• Equivalent training and experience providing the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise transportation personnel to ensure timely donation pickups.
• Monitor pickup system effectiveness and initiate corrective action to maintain productivity.
• Ensure accountability of all donated merchandise.

Supervises, plans, assigns, and evaluates the work of all transportation personnel ensuring that donation pickups are conducted in a timely and efficient manner as well as in accordance with established policies and procedures; monitors the effectiveness of the pickup system and initiates appropriate corrective action in a timely manner in order to maintain productivity standards; ensures the accountability of all donated merchandise; ensures that all fleet vehicles are properly maintained; ensures that safety standards are observed by all assigned personnel; ensures that customers are treated in a courteous and tactful manner.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred but not required and four years of experience driving a heavy duty truck or large van, one year of supervisory experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of Transportation Supervisor.
