Position Summary

The Transportation Supervisor supervises and coordinates the activities of the Truck Drivers. Additional duties include dispatching and scheduling trucks, driving as needed, ensuring compliance with DOT and all other regulations, and administrative duties. The ideal candidate will ensure that productivity and operational goals are met in order to deliver exceptional customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Perform daily dispatching and related activities; coordinate trip assignments, monitor truck driver’s operation adherence for delivery times
  • Maintain all transportation records, including time records, shipping and packing slips
  • Respond and assist truck drivers when accidents occur, and follow appropriate protocols
  • Review driver logs and other DOT requirements to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
  • Ensure accurate completion of all delivery and driver-related paperwork
  • Ensure reporting of maintenance for trucks, tractors and trailers through detailed review of post-trip inspections
  • Proactively work with all departments to identify deliveries at risk of not meeting schedules
  • Oversee and monitor performance of Truck Drivers
  • Other duties assigned

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The following environment/atmospheric working conditions are commonly, but not always, associated with the performance of this position.

This position operates in a manufacturing shop environment. Exposure to noise, chemicals, extreme temperatures, and materials consistent with a manufacturing environment are constant. This a physically demanding position including the ability to lift materials up to 50lbs. Must be able to perform Truck Driver duties as needed.
