Job summary

Univar Solutions is seeking a Director of Transportation - Fleet & Freight Payment North America based in The Woodlands, TX. The role will analyze external logistics networks to reduce transportation costs and develop processes linking internal supply chain and logistics workstreams.

Lead regional teams and coordinate with senior leadership to implement transportation strategies and systems across North America.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in operations.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Leadership experience in large organizations.
• Strong analytical and presentation/recommendation skills.
• Knowledge of the chemical distribution industry and governmental requirements (OSHA, EPA, DOT).

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage Regional Logistics Managers (RLMs).
• Develop knowledge of current TMS systems and training strategies for region users.
• Assist in developing and implementing supply chain models for logistics improvements.
• Identify opportunity lanes with external carriers for better service, capacity or rates.
• Improve fleet utilization and reduce private fleet costs through planning and performance management.
• Collaborate with Customer Service, MPUs and Sales to maximize gross margin via transportation spend management.
