Job Summary
The Transportation Service Coordinator is responsible for constructing all driver assignments for a designated region in a manner that ensures cost effective transportation that meets company objectives. This position will collaborate with the Area Planner and Area Supervisor to develop and manage freight assignments that meet the service requirements of the customers as well as consistent engagement with the driving fleet to ensure these assignments are met while maintaining high safety standards. This will entail strong communication and follow up with our established partner as well as new business partners to add value and strengthen our company base. The Transportation Service Coordinator will utilize computer applications to determine shipping requirements, measure fleet performance, manage shipment reliability, manage fleet DOT compliance and coordinate activities related to shipment scheduling through delivery.
Essential Duties
- Ensure that all loads and drivers are assigned, scheduled and dispatched for pickup on the appropriate ship date to meet promised delivery dates and times Provide proper communication to the necessary channels throughout the day to ensure our service goals are met. Compile and organize all BOLs received and ensuring all PODs are entered in the system are up to date
- Assist fleet drivers in ensuring DOT compliance which includes but not limited to: HOS requirements, ensuring drivers have proper paperwork, monitoring any unassigned driving events, and keeping up to date on flagged equipment and safety inspections Provide training on fleet systems and tools when required
- Communicate with drivers to ensure understanding of their job responsibilities, customer expectations, and company expectations while maintaining a driver friendly safety culture by providing awareness and focus on safety through conversations, messages, briefings and quarterly training
- Partner with the Area Supervisor to implement, support, monitor, and achieve metrics and goals Assist in managing the driver pay package and performance incentive program Identify and implement process improvements that increases operating efficiency, improves customer service, drives the right behavior and delivers targeted results
- Provide support and leadership in the absence of Area Supervisor Participate in other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications Required
- High School Diploma
- Two or more years of relevant work experience Required
Qualifications Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Logistics, Business, Accounting, Finance or Engineering Preferred

- Knowledge of Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and software, i.e. Carrier Point, Fleet Manager, and Telematics

Base salary and/or rate of pay ranges listed are exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Individual compensation offers will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, relevant candidate experience and skill, education, and/or qualifications.
Base Salary Range: $44,000-$60,500
