Job summary

Expeditors in Georgia is seeking a Transportation Specialist (GNS Office Agent) to support daily truck operations and manage Ground Network shipments. You will coordinate routes, prepare freight paperwork, and help expand capacity during peak times.

The role requires flexibility for late shifts, nights, and weekends, reporting to the GNS Supervisor and Operations Manager. A bachelor’s degree and 2 years warehousing experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years warehousing or freight terminal experience.

Responsibilities

• Create operating records for scheduled and ad hoc truck routes.
• Coordinate cargo recovery from facilities or 3rd parties.
• Prepare load manifests and bills of lading for transfers.
• Manage event codes and inspections within the network.
• Identify delays and capacity constraints in the ground network.
• Assist contingencies and reroute trucks as needed.
• Support CRM and e.tms documentation processes.
• Ensure regional equipment availability and perform reviews.

Position Overview

This position reports to the Regional Ground Services Manager. Ground Network Operations Agents support the execution of the GNS by managing daily truck operations and managing the GNS shipments through the network. Various work schedules may be required for this position, including late afternoon, nights and weekends.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Create operating records for scheduled and ad hoc truck routes in Expeditors’ systems.
• Coordinate the recovery of cargo from CFS facilities or 3rd party locations for induction into the Ground Network.
• Prepare paperwork for the transfer of freight within the network including load manifests and bill of ladings.
• Event code management and updates.
• Inspection and receiving of inbound and transfer freight within the network as needed.
• Identification of potential operational delays and capacity constraints in the ground network.
• Assist in enacting contingencies to expand ad hoc capacity as needed, and arranging reroutes and additional trucks as necessary.
• Delay coding and root cause analysis.
• Support documentation as needed, including processing consolidations in e.tms Export and Import and monitoring work flows.
• Ensure service provider equipment is in place at regional branches to facilitate operations.
• Perform service provider reviews and update CRM as necessary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of 2 years of Warehousing or freight terminal experience
• Ability to type:45wpm
• Ability to work under pressure

• High level of attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills
• Process oriented
• Must have the ability to work overtime including nights and / or weekends as needed.
