Job summary

The Great Falls Pre-Release Center is a non-profit Community Corrections worksite serving adult male and female offenders in a structured transition program. The Transportation Specialist will provide transportation for residents to work and medical appointments, assist as a Compliance Officer when needed, and support senior staff with policy-related duties.

A High School diploma, valid Montana driver’s license and clean driving record are required, with demonstrated ability to work with

Qualifications

  • Must have a clean driving record.
  • Must meet all basic criteria of a Compliance Officer.
  • Must possess basic understanding in interpersonal relations with ability to establish, understand and be sensitive to resident needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide transportation for residents to and from work, medical appointments, etc.
  • Transport and remain with Inmate Workers during medical appointments.
  • Ensure that residents are properly charged for rides, if applicable.
  • Report behavior changes or incidents to senior staff.
  • Advise CO staff of important client related issues which may affect program participation.
  • Pick up supplies from various locations.
  • Provide input to CO Shift Leader on policy or procedure changes.
  • Conduct visual accountabilities on residents in the community.
  • Complete other duties as may be requested or assigned.

Position Scope

Up to 220 residents participating in a Residential Re-Entry Program.

Position Summary

The Great Falls Pre-Release Center is a non-profit Community Corrections worksite consisting of three Counseling campuses. The campuses are minimum security and residential in nature, housing closely screened and selected for program acceptance, adult male and female felon offenders during their structured transition program for re-entry into the community. The Centers also operate a Jail Alternative program for adult male/female clients and a Community Service program involving adjudicated males and females.

The Transportations Specialist will be trained to perform the duties of a Compliance Officer (CO) and may be assigned to work as CO as needed. While working as a CO, will be required to work as necessary at any one of the three facilities.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • 1. Provide transportation for residents to and from work, medical appointments, etc.
  • 2. Transport and remain with Inmate Workers during medical appointments.
  • 3. Ensure that residents are properly charged for rides, if applicable.
  • 4. Report behavior changes or incidents to senior staff.
  • 5. Advise Correctional Treatment Specialist staff of important client related issues such as changes in medications, mood swings or obvious attitude disorders which may affect their ability to properly complete their program while assigned to the Center.
  • 6. Pick up supplies from various locations.
  • 7. Provide input to the CO Shift Leader which may lead to changes in policy or procedures.
  • 8. Conduct visual accountabilities on residents in the community.
  • 9. Complete other duties as may be requested or assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid Montana Driver’s license.
  • Must have a clean driving record.
  • Must meet all basic criteria of a Compliance Officer.
  • Must possess basic understanding in techniques of interpersonal relations with ability to establish, understand and be sensitive to resident needs.
  • Skills and experience working with the incarcerated and in re-entry work. Able to lead others in the performance of assigned duties.
  • Ability to learn, understand and enforce security procedures, rules and policies, follow instructions and problem solve.
  • Effective verbal and written communication. Good organizational and time management skills.
