Job summary

Curran Recruiting seeks a Transportation Sourcing Manager to lead strategic sourcing across Truckload, LTL, Ocean, and related modes within a multi-site manufacturing environment.

You will manage RFP/RFQ processes, negotiate contracts, and drive cost savings while balancing service and operational requirements. Collaboration with Purchasing, Operations, and Manufacturing is essential for aligned strategies.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in transportation sourcing, strategic sourcing, procurement, or a closely related transportation role.
• Hands-on experience leading carrier RFP/RFQ processes and contract negotiations
• Extensive knowledge of transportation modes, carrier markets, freight rates, and strategic sourcing
• Experience with freight spend analysis, cost modeling, and identifying savings opportunities
• Strong analytical, negotiation, project management, and communication skills
• Experience working across large, cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with JDE, WMS, TMS, ERP systems, or similar applications is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies across Truckload, LTL, Ocean, Drayage and other transportation modes.
• Lead RFP/RFQ processes, carrier evaluations, bid analysis, negotiations, and supplier selection.
• Negotiate Master Service Agreements, transportation rates, and commercial terms while balancing cost, service, and operational requirements.
• Build and manage carrier/vendor relationships, including performance management and supplier risk mitigation.
• Analyze freight spend and total cost of ownership to identify and drive cost savings and cost-avoidance opportunities.
• Manage contract renewals, extensions, change orders, tariffs, rates, and related freight charges.
• Partner closely with Purchasing, Operations, Manufacturing, and other internal teams to align sourcing strategies with business needs.
• Support additional non-inventory sourcing initiatives, including CapEx equipment, fleet/facility leases, MRO, and services.
• Provide oversight of freight payables, reconciliation, and related exceptions

We’re partnering with a growing manufacturing organization in the Duluth, GA area that is looking to add a Transportation Sourcing Manager to its Supply Chain team.

This position will lead strategic sourcing initiatives across transportation services, with responsibility for developing carrier strategies, managing RFP/RFQ processes, negotiating contracts and rates, analyzing freight spend, and identifying opportunities to improve both cost and service.

The ideal candidate brings a strong combination of transportation knowledge and strategic sourcing experience and is comfortable working across a multi-site manufacturing and distribution environment.

What You’ll Do
