The Oregon Department of Transportation's DMV unit in Ontario is seeking a Transportation Services Representative 1 to assist the public with driver licenses, vehicle registrations and permit/plate issuance. You will administer knowledge and vision tests, collect fees, and explain regulations, with training provided on laws and policies.

Qualifications

  • Two years of public contact/customer service experience involving dealing with the public in person or by phone providing information about services/programs or explaining and/or applying rules, regulations and procedures.
  • Experience or training using computers to retrieve and input data.
  • Three months experience collecting money and making change.

  • Produce photo licenses, instruction permits and identification cards.

  • Prepare daily bank deposits and account for sensitive inventory.
  • Occasionally perform relief work in other DMV offices within the region.

  • Must be able to type at least 30 words per minute with accuracy.

In this role, you will assist the public with obtaining a driver license, registering vehicles and issuing permits and license plates. In addition, you will administer knowledge and vision tests to potential drivers, ensure correct fees are collected, provide information about regulations and policies and administer behind-the-wheel drive tests.
