The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) seeks Supervisory Transportation Security Officers (STSOs) to lead airport passenger and baggage screening operations in Butler, MO. You will supervise officers, coordinate staffing, enforce TSA procedures, and guide daily decisions under rapid security conditions.

Applicants typically have one year of specialized supervisory experience in security operations and at least six months as a team lead. Must be a U.S.

Qualifications

• One year of specialized experience supervising transportation-security operations.
• Experience as a TSA officer or lead officer is typical for qualification.
• Leadership experience in a fast-moving security environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Transportation Security Officers and Lead Transportation Security Officers
• Oversee passenger, carry-on and checked baggage, or cargo-screening operations
• Assign work, establish priorities, and coordinate rotations and coverage
• Make security-based decisions using TSA procedures and information
• Review employee performance and provide coaching and feedback
• Approve leave and address routine workplace concerns
• Respond to security incidents, disruptions, and emergencies
• Prepare operational briefings, logs, and management communications
• Coordinate with airport stakeholders and TSA leadership as required
• Recommend improvements to screening procedures and staffing plans
