Transportation Security Officers are responsible for providing security and protection of travelers across all transportation sectors in a courteous and professional manner. Their duties may also extend to securing high-profile events, important figures, and anything that impacts our transportation systems. Sign-on Bonus: The TSA is currently offering up to $1,000 for AVP, BFD, DUJ, LNS & UNV, and up to $2,000 for AOO, with half paid after onboarding and the other half after one year of service. The bonus amount may change based on operational needs.
Note: On July 2, 2023, TSA is implementing a new compensation plan with a three-rung career ladder (D, E, and F bands). For more details, click here.

To qualify for the SV-D pay band (GS-5/6 equivalent), you must meet one of the following:
Additional requirements include travel, background checks, and adherence to grooming and appearance standards. Full-time and part-time work schedules vary, and maintaining certification and fitness is required for employment.
